A BB Cream For Your Body

I love how BB creams offer some coverage while still letting your skin show through. I have been using them ever since last summer when they became really popular. When I heard that Jergens was making a BB cream for the body I was excited and hoped it would live up to my expectations. This BB cream has five claims that I will break down individually and share my opinions about. 

1. Hydrates & Smoothes: This BB creams definitely provides some major hydration for your skin. I think any lotion will smooth your skin, but not all leave your skin hydrated for hours after application like this one does.

2. Brightens & Illuminates: While this BB cream does brighten your skin, I think many other lotions do as well.

3. Evens skin tone: Even though I have fair skin, I purchased the lotion for medium-dark skin tones. I would recommend you go this route as well because the color is definitely not too dark for fair skin people. It does even out your skin tone by giving your skin the slightest hint of color. However, this is not a self-tanner by any means. There is no long term staying power of the color like a self-tanner. I personally love this because you do not get any of the self-tanner negatives (orange streaks).   

4. Visibly firms skin: I don’t know about this claim. Not sure if any lotion can truly firm your skin.

5. Minimizes the appearance of imperfections: I think this claim somewhat goes hand in hand with the “evens skin tone.” While it gives you a hint of color, it does not cover up bruises and some discoloration. It is exactly like a facial BB cream. While it does provide some coverage, it isn’t like a full coverage foundation and does let your natural skin show through.

Now let’s talk about the smell. I have tried using self-tanners by Jergens and cannot get over the smell. This BB cream does not have any hint of the self-tanner smell whatsoever. I have heard others compare the smell to Bath and Body Work’s Twilight Woods. 

As far as transferring goes, I have not had any marks show up on my clothes. I have not worn white with it (not brave enough), but it has never left my clothes discolored. Be sure to wait a few minutes before getting dressed to let the lotion sink in. 

Overall, I am glad I purchased this and will definitely be getting a lot of use out of it throughout the summer months. Let me know if you have tried it and how you like it below!
