Icy Violet, Snow Peach, 5th Ave. Red, Jungle Peach |
One day while going through Instagram, I saw a post from Revlon
advertising their new limited edition collection of vintage lipsticks. As soon
as I saw that post, I was on the hunt for them. However, I quickly found out that
finding them was not as easy as I hoped. Other bloggers seemed to have good
luck going to Walgreens to locate these shades and after a few trips, I finally got my hands on them. For those of you
looking for these, please note that they will not be with the permanent Revlon
lipstick shades. They were in their own display by the fragrance section. From
reading other blogs, this seemed to be the case for many. They are definitely hidden
so keep your eyes peeled! Believe it or not, the display was completely stocked
(probably because nobody could find it). The quality of these lipsticks are like those in the permanent Revlon line. They are not drying and last about four hours on the lips.
Icy Violet: This shade from 1946 is a frosted mauve with a
hint of lavender. The Revlon ad makes this shade look like a vibrant lavender,
but it is a very wearable color.
Snow Peach: This 1956 shade is my favorite out of the bunch.
It is a brightened pink-coral that is perfect for Spring.
5th Ave. Red: This deep, neutral red from 1958 is
a very classic. If you are a lover of red lipsticks, you probably have
something very similar.
Jungle Peach: This 1963 peachy-nude shade is definitely a
color that is out of my comfort zone. I am so glad I picked it up though! I
find that some nude lipsticks can be streaky, but this one goes on very smooth
and evenly. I love how this color really reminds me of the decade it came from.
Sandstorm: Typical 90’s. This 1999 copper-brown is the shade
I passed on because I did not think it would be flattering on my skin tone. A
lot of people remember wearing this shade and are glad to have it back!
Have you picked any of these up? I am so excited Revlon
decided to bring these back!
Have a great week,
Nicole
