Drugstore Gem: Maybelline Color Tattoos

Todays’ post is on a versatile product that I really could not recommend enough. The Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eye shadows should be a staple in everyone’s collection. These shadows can be worn as a base or alone, either way they will not budge. When I put apply in the morning, I am confident that when I look in the mirror throughout the day I will not see any fading or smearing.

Inked in Pink (55)

I am allergic to Urban Decay eye shadows for some reason, so I can only admire the Naked palettes from afar. I really love the rose hues in the Naked 3 palette, so I bought Inked in Pink hoping to achieve the rose/pink eye shadow look. I usually am afraid of pink eye shadows because I feel like they sometimes do not complement my skin tone. However, Inked in Pink is a very wearable option. I love to use this as a base shadow because it gives the slightest hint of pink that is not over the top. While the Naked 3 does have eye shadows that have more of a rose base to them, I think you can achieve a similar look using this Color Tattoo option. Out of all my Color Tattoo eye shadows, this one is my favorite. I do not have another eye shadow color similar to it in my collection and finding a wearable pink does not happen often.

Pomegranate Punk (30)

I absolutely love wearing purple toned eye shadows. Pomegranate Punk is a burgundy shadow but pairs very well as a base for my purple eye shadows. My favorite eye shadow to top this Color Tattoo with is Laura Mercier’s African Violet. They complement each other well and the Color Tattoo’s staying power helps African Violet keep its color longer. I rarely wear this one alone but absolutely love it as a base.

Electric Blue (75)

I love using eye shadows as an eyeliner because they are much softer and natural looking than pencil liners. When I saw Electric Blue, I thought that it would be a fun color to try for a pop of color on the lower lash line. It is not as vibrant as a liner, but still gives a little blue coloring to the lash line. I still need to try it on the eyelid; I have just been a little hesitant due to how bright it is. However, layered correctly I think this could be a fun eye shadow to incorporate a pop of color on the lid as well.

Bad to the Bronze (25)

I feel like this is the shade that everyone fell in love with. This color is very popular and flattering to nearly everyone. This product transfers evenly and leaves you with an opaque bronze taupe color. This shade can easily be worn by itself but layers nicely as well. If you haven’t already picked this shade up, I recommend that you check it out. You will not be disappointed!

Have a great week!
