Cleansing Oil is at the Drugstore!

Trying a cleansing oil has been on my to-do list for a few months. This past week I spotted one of the first drugstore cleansing oils available. Garnier was the first to come out with a drugstore BB cream and it looks like they are one of the first to develop a drugstore cleansing oil as well. Here are some of my thoughts after a few days of incorporating it into my skincare routine.

This specific cleansing oil (although I believe many of them are) is geared toward people who have dry skin. It claims to dissolve impurities and makeup and includes Jojoba and Macadamia Oils to replenish skin. While it is made with oils, it promises to have no greasy residue.

I was hoping that a cleansing oil would work better with removing eye makeup than the other cleansers that I use (you can read about them here). In my experience it does remove eye makeup better than my other cleansers; however I still need to follow up with a makeup remover. I have experienced eye cloudiness after rinsing like some makeup removers can cause.  But as far as face makeup (like foundation) it removes it completely.

I actually really like this product despite it not being able to get rid of all my eye makeup. I was very skeptical about cleansing oils. I did not think adding oil to my oily face would clean it. After rinsing there is no greasy residue left behind and my skin feels clean but not tight or stripped in any way. The product does have a fruity scent that is noticeable upon application but not after rinsing. Generally, I use this product in the morning because I feel that I do not need a very strong or clarifying cleanser. In the evening I use it just around my eye area to help cleanse any makeup away. Of course, I follow up with a moisturizer afterwards to keep my skin hydrated.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this product! It is an awesome option if you have never used a cleansing oil and are curious if it will work with your skin. While some other options cost a little more, I picked up the Garnier version for $5.99. I look forward to other drugstore brands to follow this trend!

Have you tried cleansing oils? Let me know which one is your favorite and if you have tried this new drugstore version!
